For your everyday accident and illness coverage, Wagmo Insurance has a waiting period of 15 days in most states. For cancer treatments, the waiting period is 30 days. If you are in Maine there is no waiting period for accidents.
A pre-existing condition is defined as any injury, congenital disorder, or illness that has been prominent and/or identified by a veterinarian prior to signing up for Wagmo Insurance or before the end of the waiting period.
Any licensed vet! Once you submit your claim, our insurance team takes it from there.
Yes! Cancer sucks. Here at Wagmo Insurance, we try to help ease the issue while on the road to recovery. Cancer treatment will be covered under Wagmo's Pet Insurance.
Wagmo Insurance does cover X-rays, ultrasounds, CT scans, and other diagnostic tests for accidents and illnesses. Surgery and procedures that treat injuries or illness will be covered as well!

While we wholeheartedly support and recommend spaying / neutering your pet(s), we do not cover spaying or neutering under any Wagmo Insurance or Wagmo Wellness plan.
Curious why not?
Because spaying / neutering is a large, one-time expense, it often results in people signing up for insurance, making a claim for that procedure, and then canceling. To be honest, that's not great for business, and we want to stay in business.
Honestly, it depends! If your pet is generally young and healthy, we highly recommend considering signing up for pet insurance. Even a set of x-rays will run you upwards of $300, so the peace of mind is worth it. To get a personalized recommendation based on your pet's age, breed, and location, take our quiz
Pet insurance is priced based on your pet's breed, age, and the cost of care in your zip code. Wagmo pet insurance for dogs starts at $13/mo, and pet insurance for cats starts at $9/mo. The younger your pet is, the less it costs. Also, if you're looking for the lowest monthly costs, you'll want to explore a high-deductible option.
Claims
Log in to your Wagmo dashboard at wagmo.io and select Make a claim. From there, you simply need to upload a picture of your invoices with an itemized list of procedures as well as medical history, and we'll handle the rest.
Wagmo Wellness claims are processed within 24-hours! You will receive notification of payment as soon as the claim is reviewed. Reimbursements can be made via Venmo, PayPal, or bank transfer. When you sign up for your plan, you can decide how you want your reimbursements made!
Wagmo Insurance claims are processed as promptly as possible. You will receive notification of your insurance claim via email when it is submitted and when it is finalized. Once the claim is ready to be paid, you can select how you would like to be reimbursed - either through bank transfer, instant card payment, or paper check.
Why the difference between the two payment systems?
While Wagmo Wellness claims are handled in-house, Wagmo Insurance claims are processed via a third-party administrator (TPA). Due to the regulated nature of insurance products, we partner with a specially licensed vendor for insurance claims. But don't worry - all you have to do is send us a picture of your invoice, and we'll handle the insurance details for you. Wagmo is committed to making everything go smoothly, so feel free to reach out to our customer support team with any questions.
Please be aware that Wagmo reimburses for paid items. Estimates, partially paid and open invoices without proof of payment may be subject to be rejected.
This is the period at the beginning of the initial policy period during which we will not cover any Injury or Illness of your pet. This period is fifteen (15) days for accident and illness and thirty (30) days for cancer treatment.
Account
Yes, if you haven't made a claim you have a 24 hour grace period to adjust your plan coverage or cancel for a full refund. Simply send us a support request and we'll get you set up. If you have made a claim and the 24 hour period has passed, we will have to assess a cancellation fee. The cancellation fee is the lesser of payments made minus the total of claims reimbursed, or the remaining payments on your plan. We know fees suck, but unfortunately, this is the only way we can protect ourselves from people signing up one day, using a whole bunch of services, and then canceling the next. We're definitely here to help you, but we need to stay in business to do so!
The health needs of our pets change over time, and by offering yearly plans we are able to offer our members significant discounts on all the things that keep them healthy. However, under the monthly payment option, claims may be reimbursed that have not been fully paid for. In order for us to commit to bringing you awesome discounts and benefits, we need you to be committed to us!
