My puppy injured her leg and we had to go to the emergency vet clinic.
I filed my pet health insurance claim with Wagmo pet insurance on the same day and received my payment within 2 weeks. It was easy to submit the claims by just uploading the receipts. My follow-up appointment’s claims were also a breeze to process. By far it is the quickest and easiest pet health insurance I’ve had.

Understanding the terms
Pet insurance (tbh, all insurance) is traditionally pretty confusing, so let’s be clear.
Deductible
Your deductible is what you are required to pay to cover costs. A deductible is an insurance company’s way of making sure you have some skin in the game. TL;DR: A higher deductible means lower monthly payments.
Let’s say you opt for Wagmo’s $500 deductible plan. One day Fluffy got into something toxic and now you have a $2,000 vet bill. You’d pay the first $500, before your co-insurance kicks in. The deductible resets every year.
Wagmo Insurance plans let you choose from 3 deductible options: $250, $500, or $1000
How we're different
Wagmo Insurance pays up to 100% (in select states) of the bill after your deductible. No more mystery bills, no more surprise loopholes. With Wagmo, you will always know exactly how much you owe. After all, we’re here to help you– not confuse you.
Co-Insurance
Co-insurance is where some of our competitors like to get a bit sneaky. Traditionally, even after the deductible your old school insurance company will still only pay for a portion of the bill.
Let’s say you had one of our competitor’s products with 70% coinsurance, meaning you’re still on the hook for 30% of the bill.
On Fluffy’s same $2,000 vet bill you’ll pay $500 deductible, AND you’ll have to pay 30% of the remaining $1,500– that’s another $450 out of your pocket.
Wagmo insurance plans have up to 100% in all states except for California where we offer 80%.
How we're different

Lifetime Limit
A lifetime limit is the maximum we will reimburse you over the lifetime of your pet.
Wagmo Insurance will cover up to $100,000 in claims over a pet’s lifetime.
How we're different
Some sneaky players out there will sell you unlimited lifetime coverage and charge you way more for it. We did the math and very very rarely does a pet’s lifetime payout exceed $50k. We don’t want you to pay for coverage you won’t use, so we capped it at $100k to make sure you’re protected but not getting ripped off.
Waiting Periods
A waiting period is the time before your coverage is officially active. In other words, you can’t make a claim until your waiting period is up. Honestly, this is just another way of preventing fraudulent claims.
For your everyday accident and illness coverage, Wagmo’s waiting period is 15 days in most states. For cancer treatments, the waiting period is 30 days.
How we're different
TBH we’re pretty similar to the other guys here. The waiting period allows us to make sure no one signs up, files a claim for their pet’s already present illness, and then cancels, leaving Wagmo with the bill. We need to stay in business to help you keep your pet as healthy as possible, and waiting periods allow us to do just that.
Incident Limits
An incident limit is the maximum we will reimburse you for an individual accident or illness claim.
Wagmo Insurance will cover up to $10,000 per incident.
How we're different
Here’s another area where old school insurers will price-gouge you. The average claim is closer to $300, so instead of charging you more for unlimited coverage that you’re not likely to use, we capped it at $10k to make sure you’re protected but not getting ripped off. Above all, we wanted to make sure we offered our pet parents affordable pet insurance. Sensing a trend here?

Yes! Cancer treatment is covered under Wagmo Insurance. We try to help ease the issue while on the road to recovery.
Every Wagmo Insurance policy comes with an endorsement for cancer coverage. There is a waiting period of 30 days for cancer, so as long as there were no clinical signs of cancer before enrollment or during the waiting period, your coverage will apply just like it does for any other medical condition. Please note that all claims are subject to review as well as the incident limit specified in your policy.
While we wholeheartedly support and recommend spaying / neutering your pet(s), we do not cover spaying or neutering under any Wagmo Insurance or Wagmo Wellness.
